The Wood Fam in Guatemala
Jesus calls the Church, His Bride, to make disciples of every nation. As missionaries sent by The Bridge Church, The Wood Family serves in Guatemala to make disciples, equip local believers, and strengthen churches for the work of the Gospel.
Steven and Leslie met in 2015 while pursuing Bachelor of Arts degrees in Missions at Williams Baptist University. Today, Steven and Leslie serve in Guatemala alongside their two daughters, desiring to share the Gospel, make disciples, and equip Guatemalans for ministry.
Long before they met, the Lord had been preparing each of them to leave their home and culture for His service. Leslie first visited Guatemala in 2014, where the Lord broke her heart for the people she encountered. Steven’s first short-term trip to Guatemala came in 2017, when they served with a team in Chimaltenango and celebrated their first wedding anniversary.
During that trip, the Lord made it clear that Guatemala would be their home and place of ministry. They spent the following years preparing to move and serve there full-time.
Before moving to Guatemala, Steven and Leslie were involved in foster care ministry, where they learned firsthand the importance of providing stability, compassion, and Christ-centered care to vulnerable families and children. God has used seasons of grief, loss, and hardship to deepen their trust and prepare them to walk alongside others with compassion and hope.

Why Raise Support?
Support raising is not primarily about finances—it is about inviting God’s people to participate together in His work.
Throughout Scripture, God advances His mission through His Church. Some are called to go. Others are called to send. Together, they share in the privilege, sacrifice, and joy of making Christ known among the nations.
As we prayerfully serve in Guatemala, we are not simply looking for donors. We are praying for partners—brothers and sisters who desire to participate in God’s work alongside us.
If God leads you to partner with us, we believe our relationship will be built around three shared commitments.
We Share in the Work
The work of the Gospel has always been a shared calling. While we may be the ones crossing cultures, learning languages, and serving on the field, we do not accomplish this ministry alone.
Your generosity enables us to devote ourselves to disciple-making, leadership development, pastoral care, and serving local churches. More importantly, your partnership reflects the biblical pattern of believers working together so that the Gospel might continue to spread.
We may have different roles, but we share the same mission.
We Share in Prayer
Prayer is not an addition to ministry—it is the foundation of it.
One of the greatest gifts our partners give is faithful prayer. As you pray with us, you join us in seeking God’s wisdom, provision, protection, and transforming work in the lives of those we serve.
In return, we also want to pray for you. Partnership is never one-sided. We desire to know your joys, burdens, and prayer requests so that we can encourage one another as members of Christ’s body.
Our hope is not merely to send updates, but to cultivate genuine fellowship centered on Christ and His mission.
We Share in Eternal Fruit
The Gospel bears fruit that will endure forever.
Scripture teaches that those who faithfully send and support Gospel work share in its blessings. Although each believer has a different role, we rejoice together as God builds His Kingdom.
Every disciple who grows in Christ, every leader equipped for ministry, every family strengthened, and every church encouraged becomes a reminder that God delights to accomplish His work through the partnership of His people.
The harvest belongs to the Lord, and it is our privilege to labor together in it.
If the Lord leads you to partner with us, we would be honored to walk this journey together. Whether through prayer, financial support, encouragement, or all three, your partnership becomes part of God’s work in Guatemala.
We are not asking you to fund a project. We are inviting you to join us as fellow laborers in the Gospel.
Like many missionaries, we are responsible for raising the financial support that provides for our family’s living expenses and ministry needs. Your partnership allows us to serve full-time while remaining accountable to our sending church and ministry.
Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us?
