Keith and Dawn Brutout
IMN Founders
Keith Brutout was privileged to begin his walk with the Lord at an early age; as he grew older, each passing year, God showed himself faithful in his life. In 1979, Keith married Dawn, and they were later blessed with two sons: Brad and Michael. Brad now lives in Fishers, IN, with his wife, Caitlin, and has two daughters: Quinn and Fiona. Michael lives in Noblesville, IN, with his wife, Jaymee, and their daughter, Leta, and two sons, Otto and Arlo. Keith and Dawn live in Indianapolis, IN.
In the year 1999, Keith embarked on his first mission trip to Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic. Immediately, the heart of a missions birthed inside him; upon returning home, he became involved with a ministry called Outreach Mission Commission at his local church. While there, he continued to grow in leadership, first as a member and later as chairman. This was a season of his life that spanned over ten years and included several mission trips to Mexico. Moreover, he spent two of those years leading mission trips to New Orleans to aid those affected by the calamitous Hurricane Katrina. Soon after this, Keith learned about Guatemala, particularly a place called El Faro (The Lighthouse). In 2009, he took his first team there; everyone fell in love with the area and its people. The following year, he brought a second team, and this marked the beginning of a beautiful, ongoing ministry that God had long been brewing in Keith’s heart. He then joined the staff at El Faro as the U.S. representative and led missionary teams from across the U.S. to El Faro in Guatemala.
In the year 2013, Keith founded the Independent Missionary Network with the vision of helping independent missionaries fulfill their dreams. Keith led teams for approximately ten years to El Faro, and then Lord drew him near Antigua, Guatemala. Dawn had a career in banking for 39 years and retired in March of 2023 to assist full-time with Independent Missionary Network due to the continued growth. She also helps with the grandchildren regularly. She loves to travel to Guatemala a couple of times a year to nurture the missionaries. In November 2023, Keith and Dawn purchased a team house called Casa de Fuego in Ciudad Vieja. The Lord continues to bless their ministry as they expand and minister to their missionaries. Keith and Dawn have a passion for missionaries and being part of God’s plan.
