Pabel and Naomi Lopez
IMN Missionary Serving at Love Guatemala
Pabel is from Magdalena Milpas Altas Sacatepequez, Guatemala. His life before Jesus was full of obstacles. He was angry with God and blaming Him for everything wrong in his life. Then, he was hospitalized when his appendix burst. He had a 5 hour surgery and the doctors were convinced he would not live. But during that surgery, he heard a voice that told him to be calm, and that he wasn’t alone. He was at the edge of death, but God had a plan and a purpose for him, when he woke up, he realized that God had given me another opportunity to start over. It was then when he decided to give his life to Christ. He was baptized in 2019. God has blessed him with the opportunity to grow in the Lord.
He is now learning many things that God has for his life. He is now so grateful for everything that God has done and he is so thankful for the opportunity to share his testimony with the people he meets. God has transformed his life and now he can serve Him as a missionary.
Naomi is from Bourbonnais, Illinois. She went on her first mission trip to Guatemala when she was 15 years old and completely fell in love with Guatemala. She knew God was calling her to missions during this trip. Her senior year in high school, she and her family lived in Guatemala for a year and God further confirmed her calling to mission work. And during that time, even though she would have already called herself a Christian, God worked mightily in her life to heal her and soften her heart toward Him and she surrendered her life completely and was baptized. She returned to the states to study nursing, which combined her love of medical science and helping others. She graduated from nursing school in December of 2017 and moved back to Guatemala shortly after in March of 2018. She loves being in Guatemala and is eager to see all that God will continue to do and how he will continue to use her.
Pabel and Naomi met while Naomi was doing an internship in Love Guatemala (a
ministry in Magdalena, Milpas Altas Guatemala). Pabel worked there with his family and so they quickly became friends as well as coworkers. It wasn’t until Naomi moved on to work in another ministry for a short time, that they began to talk more seriously. When they started dating, after a lot of prayer, they knew God had put one another in their lives for a reason. They got married August 4th, 2019 and are working alongside one another in ministry.
Pabel and Naomi are both working now in Love Guatemala. Naomi works part time in the area of nursing, as well as administrative work, working with the sponsorship
program, and assisting in teaching English. Pabel is the photographer for the ministry and works to take all of the photos and create videos. He also is in a leadership role at the church held at Love Guatemala (Iglesia Nueva Vida). Together they work with mission teams that come from the states and they are hoping soon to start a discipleship group in their home.
They are both so grateful what God has done in their lives and the way He is leading
them. Please pray for them as they continue to seek God’s call.
